Voglibose 0.2 mg
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (as an adjunct to diet and exercise); helps control post‑meal (postprandial) blood glucose. Often used alone or with other antidiabetic medicines.
Voglibose is an alpha‑glucosidase inhibitor that delays breakdown and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine. This reduces the rise in blood glucose after meals and improves overall glycaemic control.
Oral tablet. Take as prescribed, typically just before the start of meals (or with the first bite). Swallow with water; do not crush unless advised. If used with insulin or sulfonylureas, monitor glucose regularly.
Common side effects of VOLIX 0.2MG TAB may include:
Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Use with caution in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal obstruction, malabsorption syndromes, or major gastrointestinal disorders. Monitor liver enzymes if advised; stop and consult a doctor if jaundice or persistent abdominal symptoms occur. Risk of hypoglycaemia increases when combined with insulin/sulfonylureas; treat low sugar with glucose/dextrose (table sugar may act slower due to this medicine).
