Xm Beta 25 mg Tablet contains Metoprolol Succinate (25mg). It belongs to the Selective beta-1 blocker (Beta-blocker) class of medicines.

How Xm Beta 25 mg Tablet works

How to take Xm Beta 25 mg Tablet

Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; take consistently the same way. Swallow whole (do not crush/chew if extended-release); do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

Warnings and precautions

Do not stop abruptly (may worsen angina/trigger arrhythmia). Use with caution in asthma/COPD, diabetes (may mask hypoglycaemia symptoms), peripheral vascular disease, thyroid disorders, and in patients with bradycardia, heart block, or acute decompensated heart failure. Monitor blood pressure and pulse. May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected.

Other antihypertensives (additive hypotension), calcium channel blockers like verapamil/diltiazem (bradycardia/heart block), digoxin (bradycardia), antiarrhythmics like amiodarone (conduction issues), clonidine (rebound hypertension if stopped improperly), insulin/oral antidiabetics (masks hypoglycaemia), NSAIDs (may reduce BP-lowering effect), CYP2D6 inhibitors like fluoxetine/paroxetine/quinidine (increase metoprolol levels)

Lifestyle changes like a low-fat diet, exercise, and not smoking may help this medicine work better. It may cause dizziness. If this happens to you, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. It can hide symptoms of low blood sugar if you are diabetic. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly. Do not stop taking XM Beta 25mg Tablet suddenly as it can cause your blood pressure to rise suddenly, thereby increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
