Nutritional supplement used to prevent or treat iron deficiency and related anaemia, especially during periods of increased requirement (e.g., pregnancy/lactation) or poor dietary intake.
Iron supplements replenish body iron stores required for haemoglobin formation and oxygen transport. Correcting iron deficiency improves red blood cell production and reduces symptoms of anaemia such as fatigue and weakness.
Softgel capsule: take as advised by a doctor. Typically taken once daily with water; may be taken after food to reduce stomach upset. Avoid taking together with tea/coffee, calcium or antacids; keep a 2–4 hour gap.
Common side effects of ABDIFER SOFTGELS may include:
Do not use in iron overload states (e.g., haemochromatosis/haemosiderosis) or non–iron-deficiency anaemia unless prescribed. Keep out of reach of children (iron overdose can be fatal). Use with caution in peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, or if you have repeated blood transfusions. If severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, or allergic symptoms occur, seek medical advice.
