Diltiazem hydrochloride prolonged-release 120 mg (tablet/capsule)
Hypertension (high blood pressure), chronic stable angina (chest pain due to coronary artery disease), vasospastic/Prinzmetal angina
Diltiazem is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels and reduces the workload of the heart. It also slows conduction through the AV node, which can help control heart rate in some patients.
Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time. Swallow the prolonged-release tablet/capsule whole; do not crush, chew or split. May be taken with or without food; avoid grapefruit/grapefruit juice.
Common side effects of ANGIZEM DP 120 may include:
Do not use in severe hypotension, sick sinus syndrome or 2nd/3rd degree AV block without a pacemaker. Use with caution in heart failure/left ventricular dysfunction, liver or kidney disease, and in the elderly (risk of bradycardia/hypotension). Do not stop suddenly without medical advice. Seek urgent care for fainting, very slow pulse, worsening breathlessness or swelling, chest pain, or allergic reaction.
