How Anobliss Cream works

Anobliss Cream is a combination of two medicines: Lidocaine and Nifedipine. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic. It works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain which decreases pain sensation. Nifedipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB). It works in anal fissure by blocking the action of calcium on blood vessels of anus.

How to take Anobliss Cream

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Anobliss Cream, use it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely from external use. It can cause a severe fall in blood pressure and a dangerously slow or irregular heartbeat. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Anobliss are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

For external use only, unless the pack says otherwise. See a doctor for a deep, dirty or heavily bleeding wound, an animal bite, or any wound showing signs of infection. Check that your tetanus cover is current after any dirty or penetrating wound. Ankle swelling is the commonest reason people stop this medicine — tell your doctor, as there are ways to manage it. Tell your doctor if your chest pain becomes more frequent or more severe after starting. Swollen, tender or overgrown gums should be reported; good brushing and regular dental care reduce the risk.

Do not take Anobliss if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for use on large burns or deep wounds without medical advice. Not for people with very low blood pressure or with severe narrowing of the aortic valve.

Interactions with other medicines

No significant interactions are expected. Grapefruit juice raises the level of some of these medicines in the blood — avoid it. Tell your doctor about other blood pressure medicines, and about simvastatin in particular.

How to store Anobliss Cream

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Close the cap tightly after each use. Keep out of the reach of children.

Expert advice for Anobliss Cream

It is for administration into the rectum (back passage). It must not be taken by mouth. Use the applicator provided to insert a measured dose of cream into your back passage. Avoid getting it in the eyes, mouth or nose. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas. Tips to prevent constipation that can cause anal fissure: Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. Have fiber-rich food such as whole grains, oatmeal, and citrus fruits. Exercise regularly. Do not sit on the toilet for too long. Do not ignore your urge to go to the washroom.
