It reduces thrombin formation and helps prevent the development and spread of blood clots.

How to take Apiban 5 Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Apiban 5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Apiban 5mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause serious and difficult-to-control bleeding. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Apiban are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Apiban 5 Tablet

Store at room temperature (20-25°C), away from light and moisture.

Apiban 5mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. Night-time administration is not preferable. It interacts less with food or other medicines. Hence, frequent dose changes are not required. It increases your risk of bleeding. Be careful while shaving, cutting fingernails or toenails, using sharp objects, or engaging in contact sports (e.g., football, wrestling). Informyour doctor if you see blood in your vomit, urine, or stool (black, tarry stools or bright red blood). If you are going to have surgery or dental treatment, you may be asked to stop taking Apiban 5mg Tablet temporarily. Notify your doctor if you have any kidney problems. Do not stop taking medication without talking to your doctor.
