Prevention of heart attack and stroke in patients with coronary artery disease, acute coronary syndrome (as advised), post-angioplasty/stent placement, high cholesterol with high cardiovascular risk
Atorvastatin reduces LDL cholesterol by inhibiting HMG‑CoA reductase and stabilizes atherosclerotic plaques. Aspirin and clopidogrel reduce platelet aggregation by inhibiting COX-1 (thromboxane A2) and blocking P2Y12 receptors respectively, lowering clot formation risk.
Take orally exactly as prescribed, usually once daily. Swallow tablet whole with water; do not crush/chew (enteric-coated component). Can be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day.
Common side effects of ATOREC GOLD 10 TAB may include:
Increases bleeding risk; seek urgent care for black stools, vomiting blood, unusual bleeding/bruising. Inform doctor before surgery/dental procedures. Use caution in peptic ulcer disease, bleeding disorders, uncontrolled hypertension, liver disease, history of stroke/brain bleed. Statin may cause muscle injury; report unexplained muscle pain/weakness especially with fever or dark urine. Avoid in active liver disease; periodic liver function monitoring may be needed. Do not stop antiplatelets without medical advice, especially after stent.
