Azilsartan medoxomil 80 mg
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); may be used alone or with other antihypertensive medicines to reduce risk of cardiovascular complications associated with uncontrolled BP.
Azilsartan medoxomil is a prodrug converted to azilsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks AT1 receptors, leading to vasodilation and reduced aldosterone effects, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing strain on the heart and kidneys.
Oral tablet. Take once daily at the same time each day, with or without food, as prescribed by the doctor. Do not stop suddenly; monitor blood pressure regularly.
Common side effects of AZILDAY 80MG TAB may include:
Contraindicated in pregnancy—can cause fetal harm; stop immediately if pregnancy occurs. Use caution in kidney impairment, renal artery stenosis, dehydration/volume depletion, and in elderly due to risk of hypotension and worsening kidney function. Monitor serum creatinine and potassium, especially if taking diuretics or other potassium-raising drugs. Not recommended during breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor.
