Composition of Becozinc Capsule

Becozinc Capsule contains Methylcobalamin (1500mcg) + Alpha Lipoic Acid (100mg) + Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) (3mg) + Folic Acid (1.5mg) + Vitamin D3 (1000IU). It belongs to the B-complex vitamin, Antioxidant / trace element supplement and Vitamin D / calcium supplement class of medicines.

Uses of Becozinc Capsule

Nutritional deficiencies

Key benefits

  • In Nutritional deficiencies Becozinc-M Tablet is a nutritional supplement that helps in the formation of red blood cells and enhances the absorption of iron in the body. This improves the level of hemoglobin and thus reduces the risk of anemia. This combination helps in proper functioning of the brain and the nervous system. Becozinc-M Tablet has antioxidants that protects the body’s vital organs from damage. Becozinc-M Tablet also has vitamin D3 which is important for the absorption of calcium and helps regulate the amount of calcium in your body. This helps in the growth and development of bones as well as reduces the risk of bone disorders. Taking Becozinc-M Tablet improves general health and enhances the quality of life.

How Becozinc Capsule works

Becozinc-M Tablet is a combination of five nutritional supplements. Methylcobalamin is an active form of Vitamin B 12. This helps in proper cell growth and development, helps in protein synthesis and production of blood cells (red and white blood cells). Alpha Lipoic Acid is an antioxidant that repairs cell damage and restores vitamin level in the body, it also improves the functions of the nerves. Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) and Vitamin D3 are vitamin nutritional supplements that regulate essential metabolic functions in the body for proper growth and development. Folic Acid is also known as folate or vitamin B9. It helps in producing blood (hemoglobin) in the body. This is how it works in the treatment of nutritional deficiencies.

How to take Becozinc Capsule

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Becozinc-M Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Becozinc-M Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely to cause serious harm, because the body passes surplus B vitamins out in the urine. It can cause vomiting, stomach pain and, with some minerals, damage over the longer term. It can raise blood calcium dangerously, causing thirst, frequent urination, vomiting, confusion and kidney damage. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Becozinc Capsule

Most side effects of Becozinc are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

  • Nausea
  • Stomach upset
  • Harmless bright yellow urine
  • Loose motions
  • Metallic taste
  • Constipation
  • Bloating
  • Stomach discomfort

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Tingling, numbness or burning in the hands and feet should be assessed by a doctor rather than self-treated — a supplement does not address the cause. Folic acid can mask a vitamin B12 deficiency while nerve damage continues, so B12 should be checked before taking folic acid long term. Bright yellow urine after a B-complex dose is expected and harmless. A supplement supports a normal diet; it does not prevent or treat infection. Zinc on an empty stomach commonly causes nausea — take it with food. Very high doses of vitamin A over a long period can be harmful, particularly in pregnancy. Do not take several products containing the same nutrient at once; the totals add up. Do not take more than your doctor has advised. Vitamin D builds up in the body and too much raises blood calcium, causing thirst, frequent urination, nausea and confusion. High-dose weekly or monthly sachets are prescription strengths — do not repeat one because you missed a week. Tell your doctor if you have had kidney stones or have kidney disease.

Do not take Becozinc if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with a high blood calcium level, or with certain kidney stones.

Interactions with other medicines

Long-term metformin, acid-reducing medicines and some anti-epileptics lower B12 or folate levels. Tell your doctor if you take levodopa, as vitamin B6 can reduce its effect. Zinc and other minerals reduce the absorption of some antibiotics — separate them by a few hours. Tell your doctor if you take a blood thinner, as high-dose vitamin E can add to its effect. Calcium reduces the absorption of thyroid tablets, several antibiotics and iron — separate them by a few hours. Water tablets of the thiazide group raise calcium further when combined.

How to store Becozinc Capsule

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.

Expert advice for Becozinc Capsule

Becozinc-M Tablet is prescribed to fulfill your nutritional requirement and to prevent any related diseases. Avoid taking antacids 2 hours before or after taking Becozinc-M Tablet as they make it harder for your body to absorb the medicine. Inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, or if you have ever had kidney stones. Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medications like antihypertensives, antibiotics, or medicines for heart disease or bone disorders.
