How Carpela works

This medicine combines 2 active ingredients: Cyproterone and Ethinylestradiol-. Cyproterone supplies or adjusts a hormone so that the body's own balance is restored. Ethinylestradiol- supplies or adjusts a hormone so that the body's own balance is restored.

How to take Carpela

Use this medicine as your doctor has directed. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.

Report any unusual or heavy vaginal bleeding to your doctor.

Do not take Carpela if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with a history of blood clots, certain hormone-sensitive cancers, or active liver disease. Several are contraindicated in pregnancy.

Interactions with other medicines

Rifampicin, several anti-epileptics and St John's wort make hormonal contraception unreliable. Tell your doctor about every medicine, supplement and herbal product you take.
