Telmisartan 40 mg
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); reduction of cardiovascular risk in selected high-risk patients when ACE inhibitors are not suitable (as prescribed).
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks angiotensin II at AT1 receptors, causing relaxation of blood vessels and reduced aldosterone effects, which lowers blood pressure and reduces strain on the heart.
Tablet for oral use. Take as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water; do not stop abruptly without medical advice.
Common side effects of CORDILOR 40MG TAB 10S may include:
Avoid use in pregnancy; can cause fetal harm. Use caution in kidney disease, liver impairment, dehydration/volume depletion, and in the elderly. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and serum potassium, especially if taking diuretics or potassium-raising drugs. Not recommended with aliskiren in diabetes; avoid dual RAAS blockade unless specifically advised. Seek help for fainting, severe dizziness, or signs of high potassium (weakness, irregular heartbeat).
