Telmisartan 40 mg
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); reduction of cardiovascular risk (heart attack/stroke) in high-risk patients when appropriate.
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It relaxes and widens blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II action, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing strain on the heart.
Oral tablet. Take as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Not recommended in pregnancy (can harm the unborn baby), especially 2nd/3rd trimester. Use caution in kidney disease, liver impairment, dehydration/low salt, and in patients prone to low blood pressure. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and serum potassium. Seek care for fainting, severe dizziness, swelling of face/lips (angioedema), or reduced urine output.
