How Jascovit D Drops works

Vitamin D helps the intestine absorb calcium and phosphate and supports normal bone mineralization. It maintains adequate serum calcium for bone growth and strength.

How to take Jascovit D Drops

Oral drops: use the measured dropper as advised by a doctor/prescriber. Can be given directly into the mouth or mixed with a small amount of milk/water; preferably give at the same time each day; may be taken with or without food (often better absorbed with food containing fat).

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Jascovit D as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Jascovit D than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Jascovit D Drops

Most side effects of Jascovit D are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• headache

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Do not exceed recommended dose. Use with caution in hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis D, kidney stones, severe kidney disease, sarcoidosis or other granulomatous diseases. Prolonged high doses can cause vitamin D toxicity (high calcium) with symptoms like excessive thirst, frequent urination, confusion, and vomiting—seek medical help. Keep out of reach of children.

Interactions with other medicines

Thiazide diuretics (e.g., hydrochlorothiazide) may increase risk of hypercalcemia, digoxin (risk of arrhythmias with high calcium), anticonvulsants (phenytoin/phenobarbital) may reduce vitamin D effect, glucocorticoids may reduce absorption/action, cholestyramine/orlistat may reduce absorption, calcium supplements may increase risk of hypercalcemia if combined in high doses

How to store Jascovit D Drops

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct light and moisture. Keep bottle tightly closed. Do not freeze.
