Olmat MT 50 Tablet ER is used in the treatment of high blood pressure.

How Olmat Mt 50 works

Olmat MT 50 Tablet ER is a combination of two blood-pressure lowering medicines: Olmesartan Medoxomil and Metoprolol Succinate. Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels. Metoprolol Succinate is a beta blocker which works specifically on the heart to reduce heart rate and lower blood pressure. Together they allow the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.

How to take Olmat Mt 50

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Olmat MT 50 Tablet ER is to be taken with food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Olmat Mt as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Olmat Mt than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
