Ethinylestradiol 0.03 mg + Levonorgestrel 0.15 mg

Uses of Ovral L Tablet

Oral contraception (prevention of pregnancy); may also help regulate menstrual cycles and reduce menstrual pain/bleeding as advised by a doctor

How it works

This combined oral contraceptive prevents ovulation by suppressing pituitary gonadotropins. It also thickens cervical mucus to reduce sperm penetration and alters the endometrium, making implantation less likely.

Directions for use

Tablet (oral). Take 1 tablet daily at the same time for 21 days, followed by a 7-day tablet-free interval (or as prescribed). Start as advised (often Day 1 of menstrual cycle); if starting later, use backup contraception for 7 days. Can be taken with or without food; if vomiting/diarrhoea occurs soon after dosing, follow missed-pill advice and use backup contraception.
