Uses of Sitason -100 mg Tablet

Treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus

Key benefits

  • In Treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus Type 2 diabetes is a condition where the body cannot properly use or make enough insulin
  • leading to high blood sugar levels. Sitason D 10mg/100mg Tablet helps lower blood sugar by removing excess sugar through urine and supporting the body’s natural insulin function. It helps improve blood sugar control
  • reduces diabetes-related complications
  • and supports overall health management.

How Sitason -100 mg Tablet works

Sitason D 10mg/100mg Tablet is a combination of two antidiabetic medications. Dapagliflozin increases urinary glucose excretion and reduces blood glucose levels. Sitagliptin reduces the amount of glucose produced by the liver by raising insulin levels and decreasing the levels of glucagon (the hormone that increases blood glucose levels).

Warnings and precautions

Drink enough water, especially in hot weather or if you have loose motions — this medicine makes you pass more urine. Seek urgent care for nausea with vomiting, stomach pain and deep rapid breathing, even if your sugar reading is normal. Report any pain, tenderness, redness or swelling in the genital area or perineum immediately — this is rare but needs same-day attention. Genital thrush is common; keep the area clean and dry and tell your doctor if it recurs. Stop and see a doctor urgently if you get severe, persistent abdominal pain that spreads to your back, with or without vomiting. Tell your doctor if you develop severe or disabling joint pain. Blisters or peeling of the skin should be reported promptly.

Do not take Sitason -100 mg if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for type 1 diabetes or for diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for people with severe kidney disease.

Interactions with other medicines

Water tablets increase the risk of dehydration and low blood pressure when taken with this. Low blood sugar is more likely when combined with insulin or a sulfonylurea. Low blood sugar is more likely when this is combined with a sulfonylurea or insulin; your doctor may lower that dose.

How to store Sitason -100 mg Tablet

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.

Expert advice for Sitason -100 mg Tablet

Sitason D 10mg/100mg Tablet is used alone or together with other diabetes medicines to control blood sugar and avoid long-term complications. It also reduces the risk of heart attack, heart failure, or other cardiovascular events. You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines (if prescribed) along with Sitason D 10mg/100mg Tablet. It may cause your body to lose too much fluid (dehydration), or you may urinate more often. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. It can cause genital fungal and/or urinary tract infections (UTIs) in both females and males, so practice good hygiene. It may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol, or if you delay or miss a meal. Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemia symptoms such as cold sweats, cool, pale skin, tremor, and anxiety. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience constant dizziness, joint pain, cold-like symptoms, or unexplained nausea/vomiting. Monitor your blood sugar regularly while taking this medicine.
