Composition of Telmichek Ah Tablet

Telmichek Ah Tablet contains Telmisartan (40mg) + Amlodipine (5mg) + Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5mg). It belongs to the Angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) + Calcium channel blocker (dihydropyridine) + Thiazide diuretic class of medicines.

How Telmichek Ah Tablet works

Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II (ARB), relaxing blood vessels. Amlodipine (calcium channel blocker) further dilates arteries. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that removes excess salt and water, lowering blood pressure.

How to take Telmichek Ah Tablet

Take orally as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day; can be taken with or without food. Swallow whole with water. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice; monitor BP regularly.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Telmichek AH Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause a severe fall in blood pressure, with dizziness, fainting and a fast or slow pulse. It can cause a severe fall in blood pressure and a dangerously slow or irregular heartbeat. It can cause severe dehydration, a sharp fall in blood pressure and dangerous salt imbalances. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Warnings and precautions

May cause dizziness—avoid driving until you know its effects. Monitor kidney function and electrolytes (sodium, potassium) periodically. Use with caution in kidney/liver disease, dehydration, low BP, heart failure, aortic stenosis, or history of angioedema. Thiazides can increase uric acid (may worsen gout) and affect blood sugar; monitor in diabetes. Avoid in pregnancy; stop immediately if pregnant. Seek urgent care for facial/lip swelling or severe breathing difficulty.

Do not take Telmichek Ah if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be used in pregnancy — it can seriously harm the developing baby. Not for people with narrowing of both kidney arteries, or a history of swelling of the face and throat caused by this group of medicines. Not for people with very low blood pressure or with severe narrowing of the aortic valve. Not for people who are unable to pass urine, or who are severely dehydrated.

Interactions with other medicines

Other antihypertensives, diuretics, NSAIDs (may reduce effect and worsen kidney function), lithium (toxicity risk), potassium supplements/potassium-sparing diuretics or salt substitutes (high potassium risk), ACE inhibitors or aliskiren (higher kidney impairment/hyperkalemia risk; avoid in diabetes), digoxin (levels may increase with telmisartan), alcohol (adds to BP lowering)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep in original blister pack; keep out of reach of children.

You have been prescribed Telmichek AH Tablet for the treatment of high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes and heart attacks. It may cause dizziness. Get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. Telmichek AH Tablet may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, muscle weakness, or very dry mouth. Telmichek AH Tablet is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
