How Uprise D3 60K Capsule works

Cholecalciferol is converted in the body to active vitamin D (calcitriol), which increases intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate. It helps maintain normal blood calcium levels and supports bone mineralization and muscle function.

How to take Uprise D3 60K Capsule

Oral capsule. Take as advised by the doctor; commonly 1 capsule once weekly for 6–8 weeks for deficiency, then maintenance as prescribed. Swallow whole with water, preferably after food or with milk; take on the same day each week if on weekly dosing.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Uprise-D3 60K Soft Gelatin Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can raise blood calcium dangerously, causing thirst, frequent urination, vomiting, confusion and kidney damage. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Uprise D3 60K are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Do not exceed prescribed dose; long-term high doses can cause hypervitaminosis D and hypercalcaemia. Use with caution in kidney disease, kidney stones, hyperparathyroidism, sarcoidosis/granulomatous diseases, and in patients with high calcium levels. Monitor calcium, phosphate and vitamin D levels if taking prolonged therapy. Seek medical help if symptoms of hypercalcaemia occur (persistent nausea/vomiting, confusion, excessive thirst/urination).

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with a high blood calcium level, or with certain kidney stones.

Interactions with other medicines

Thiazide diuretics (risk of hypercalcaemia), digoxin/cardiac glycosides (arrhythmia risk with hypercalcaemia), anticonvulsants like phenytoin/phenobarbital and rifampicin (reduced vitamin D effect), cholestyramine/orlistat (reduced absorption), corticosteroids (reduced effect), aluminium/magnesium antacids (risk of toxicity in renal impairment), calcium supplements (additive hypercalcaemia)

Your doctor has prescribed Uprise-D3 60K Soft Gelatin Capsule for the treatment of vitamin D3 deficiency. Take it as per the dose and duration suggested by your doctor. It should be taken with food for faster absorption of medicine. To help manage vitamin D deficiency, get 10–40 minutes of sun exposure 3 times a week (20–30 minutes for light skin, 30–40 for dark skin) and eat a vitamin D-rich diet including egg yolk, mushrooms, dairy, fortified foods, and oily fish. When taken at night, it might affect your sleep pattern. To avoid this, it is better to take it in the daytime. Do not take antacids or any other medication 2 hours before or after taking Uprise-D3 60K Soft Gelatin Capsule. Inform your doctor if you notice nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, constipation, weakness, and weight loss while taking this medicine.
