Uses of Voglyson 0.3 Tablet

  • usually as an add‑on to diet
  • exercise and/or other antidiabetic medicines

Key benefits

  • Controls post-meal blood sugar
  • Improves overall glycaemic control
  • Adjunct to diet and exercise
  • Helps reduce glucose spikes after carbohydrate-rich meals

How Voglyson 0.3 Tablet works

Voglibose is an alpha‑glucosidase inhibitor that delays the breakdown and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine. This reduces the rise in blood glucose levels after meals and improves overall glycaemic control.

How to take Voglyson 0.3 Tablet

Oral tablet; usually taken just before the start of a meal (or with the first bite) as prescribed by the doctor. Follow diet and exercise advice; do not skip meals after taking. If you miss a dose, take it with the next meal—do not double the dose.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Voglyson 0.3 Tablet MD, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Voglyson than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in liver disease; periodic liver function monitoring may be advised. Not recommended in diabetic ketoacidosis, severe infection/trauma, or in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal obstruction, or chronic intestinal disorders. Risk of hypoglycaemia increases when used with insulin or sulfonylureas—treat low sugar with glucose (dextrose) rather than sucrose/table sugar. Consult doctor in elderly and if severe abdominal symptoms occur.

Interactions with other medicines

Insulin, sulfonylureas (e.g., glimepiride, gliclazide) – increased hypoglycaemia risk; digoxin – may reduce absorption; intestinal adsorbents (e.g., activated charcoal) and digestive enzyme preparations – may reduce effect; other antidiabetic medicines – additive glucose lowering

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Voglyson 0.3 Tablet

Voglyson 0.3 Tablet MD is used together with other diabetes medicines to control blood sugar and avoid long-term complications. You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines along with Voglyson 0.3 Tablet MD. Voglyson 0.3 Tablet MD lowers your post-meal blood sugar levels. Therefore, it should be taken before meals. Side effects such as stomach pain, gas, and diarrhea may occur during the first few weeks of treatment, but should get better with time. If you have low blood sugar, treat it with pure glucose tablets, not table sugar, because this medicine slows your body's absorption of ordinary sugar.
