Treatment of Angina (heart-related chest pain)
Xemnol 500mg Tablet SR is an anti-anginal medication. It works by decreasing the oxygen requirement of the heart by relaxing the heart muscle.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Xemnol 500mg Tablet SR may be taken with or without food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Xemnol 500mg Tablet SR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Xemnol SR than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Xemnol SR are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Xemnol SR. Some combinations can change how Xemnol SR works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Xemnol SR below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
Xemnol 500mg Tablet SR improves HbA1c and blood sugar levels in diabetes patients. It may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. Notify your doctor if you are taking any other medications along with Xemnol 500mg Tablet SR. It may produce changes in the ECG (QTc interval prolongation). It is recommended to get an ECG done within 1 to 2 weeks of starting the medication.
