Amlovel 5 mg Tablet contains Amlodipine besylate equivalent to Amlodipine 5 mg. It belongs to the Calcium channel blocker (dihydropyridine) class of medicines.

How Amlovel 5 mg Tablet works

Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels by inhibiting calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle. This lowers peripheral resistance and blood pressure and improves blood flow to the heart, reducing angina symptoms.

How to take Amlovel 5 mg Tablet

Oral tablet. Take as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water; do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in liver impairment (dose adjustment may be needed). May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected. Peripheral edema is common. Do not take Amlovel if
