How Amtas-E works

Amtas-E Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amlodipine and enalapril which lower blood pressure effectively. It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.

How to take Amtas-E

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amtas-E Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Amtas-E as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Amtas-E than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Amtas-E

Most side effects of Amtas-E are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

PregnancyAmtas-E Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.<br>There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
BreastfeedingAmtas-E Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
KidneyAmtas-E Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Amtas-E Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br>Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function test, and potassium levels is recommended while you are taking this medicine.
LiverAmtas-E Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Amtas-E Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br>Inform your doctor if you experience fatigue, develop yellowing of the skin and eyes or white stools while taking this medicine.
