Iron supplementation to prevent or treat iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia.
Iron is required to make hemoglobin in red blood cells, which carries oxygen. Supplementation replenishes iron stores and helps improve hemoglobin levels over time.
Oral liquid/syrup. Take as directed by a physician; commonly taken after food to reduce stomach upset. Measure the dose with a measuring cup/spoon; avoid taking together with tea/coffee/milk and keep a 2-hour gap from antacids/calcium if advised.
Common side effects of ANOFER LIQUID may include:
Do not use in iron overload states (e.g., hemochromatosis/hemosiderosis) or anemia not due to iron deficiency unless prescribed. Accidental overdose of iron-containing products can be fatal in children—keep out of reach. Use with caution in peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, or chronic liver disease. May cause dark stools; this is usually harmless. If severe abdominal pain, vomiting, or allergic symptoms occur, seek medical help.
