Atorvastatin 10 mg
High cholesterol (hypercholesterolaemia), mixed dyslipidaemia, prevention of cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke) in at-risk patients
Atorvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) that reduces cholesterol production in the liver. It lowers LDL and triglycerides and can modestly increase HDL, thereby reducing plaque formation and cardiovascular risk.
Take orally as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Continue diet and lifestyle changes; do not stop without medical advice.

Contraindicated in active liver disease and during pregnancy/breastfeeding. Use caution in liver impairment, heavy alcohol use, hypothyroidism, renal impairment, and in elderly due to risk of myopathy/rhabdomyolysis; report unexplained muscle pain/weakness or dark urine. Periodic liver function tests may be advised.
