Bisoclas-5 mg Tablet contains Bisoprolol fumarate 5 mg. It belongs to the Cardioselective beta-blocker (Beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker) class of medicines.

How Bisoclas-5 mg Tablet works

How to take Bisoclas-5 mg Tablet

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day; can be taken with or without food. Swallow with water. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause a dangerously slow heartbeat, a severe fall in blood pressure, wheezing and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Bisoclas-5 mg are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Do not stop abruptly (may worsen angina/arrhythmias). Use with caution in asthma/COPD, diabetes (may mask hypoglycemia symptoms), thyroid disorders, peripheral vascular disease, and in patients with low heart rate, heart block, or severe hypotension. Monitor blood pressure and pulse regularly. In heart failure, dose titration and monitoring are required. Seek urgent care for wheezing, severe dizziness/fainting, very slow pulse, or worsening breathlessness/leg swelling.

Do not take Bisoclas-5 mg if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with a very slow heart rate, certain heart block disorders, or uncontrolled heart failure. Generally avoided in severe asthma.

Interactions with other medicines

Other antihypertensives (additive hypotension), calcium channel blockers like verapamil/diltiazem (risk of bradycardia/heart block), digoxin (bradycardia), antiarrhythmics e.g., amiodarone (conduction disturbances), clonidine (rebound hypertension if stopped improperly), insulin/oral antidiabetics (masked hypoglycemia), NSAIDs (may reduce antihypertensive effect), beta-agonist bronchodilators (reduced effect), MAO inhibitors (enhanced hypotension)
