Celol Plus Tablet is a mixture of zinc, calcitriol, and calcium citrate. Calcium, which is necessary for bone mineralisation and strength, is directly provided by calcium citrate. The active form of vitamin D3, calcitriol, improves intestinal absorption of calcium and aids in maintaining the body's calcium balance. How to take Celol Plus

An overdose of this medicine can raise blood calcium dangerously, causing thirst, frequent urination, vomiting, confusion and kidney damage. It may be harmful — seek medical advice immediately. It can cause vomiting, stomach pain and, with some minerals, damage over the longer term. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

This is a prescription-only medicine. Take it exactly as your doctor has directed, for the period directed. Do not share it with anyone else, even if their symptoms seem the same. Tell your doctor about every other medicine, supplement and herbal product you take. Report any unexpected or severe symptom to your doctor rather than stopping on your own. A supplement supports a normal diet; it does not prevent or treat infection. Zinc on an empty stomach commonly causes nausea — take it with food. Very high doses of vitamin A over a long period can be harmful, particularly in pregnancy. Do not take several products containing the same nutrient at once; the totals add up.

Interactions with other medicines

Calcium reduces the absorption of thyroid tablets, several antibiotics and iron — separate them by a few hours. Water tablets of the thiazide group raise calcium further when combined. Give your doctor and pharmacist a full list of everything you take. Zinc and other minerals reduce the absorption of some antibiotics — separate them by a few hours. Tell your doctor if you take a blood thinner, as high-dose vitamin E can add to its effect.

Do not self-medicate with other calcium or vitamin D supplements unless recommended. In elderly patients or those with kidney disease, extra caution and regular monitoring are essential. Use calcitriol with caution in patients with kidney failure or those on dialysis, as it can raise phosphate levels and increase the risk of abnormal calcium deposits. A low-phosphate diet and suitable phosphate binders may be advised by the doctor. Avoid using magnesium-containing products along with calcitriol in patients on long-term dialysis, as this may lead to high magnesium levels in the blood.
