Doris Tablet

Doris Tablet is a combined oral contraceptive pill. It works by preventing the release of egg (ovulation) and affecting sperm movement in the womb to prevent its union with the egg. It also changes the lining of the womb and renders it unsuitable for pregnancy.

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine may cause nausea, vomiting and withdrawal bleeding. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Rifampicin, several anti-epileptics and St John's wort make hormonal contraception unreliable. Tell your doctor about every medicine, supplement and herbal product you take.

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.

Consult your doctor if this persists.</li> <li>Do not use Doris Tablet if you are obese, over 35, smoke, on prolonged bed rest, or have a history of blood clots.</li> <li>Stop taking this medicine and inform your doctor immediately if you notice unexplained swelling and pain in your limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain, severe headache, or changes in vision. These could be symptoms of a blood clot in a vein.</li> <li>Stop taking Doris Tablet and inform your doctor immediately if you notice your skin and whites of the eye turning yellow (jaundice), severe stomach pain, severe depression or if you think you could be pregnant.</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div></div>
