Envas 10 Tablet contains Enalapril (10mg). It belongs to the ACE inhibitor class of medicines.

How Envas 10 Tablet works

Enalapril is an ACE inhibitor that reduces formation of angiotensin II, leading to relaxation of blood vessels and reduced aldosterone. This lowers blood pressure and decreases workload on the heart.

How to take Envas 10 Tablet

Take as prescribed, usually once or twice daily, with or without food at the same time each day. If you feel dizzy after the first doses, take at bedtime. Do not stop abruptly without advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause a severe fall in blood pressure, with dizziness, fainting and a fast or slow pulse. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Envas 10 Tablet

Most side effects of Envas are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Contraindicated in pregnancy (risk of fetal harm) and history of angioedema with ACE inhibitors. Monitor kidney function and potassium; risk of hyperkalemia, hypotension, and renal impairment especially with dehydration/diuretics. Seek urgent care for swelling of face/lips/tongue or breathing difficulty.

Do not take Envas if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be used in pregnancy — it can seriously harm the developing baby. Not for people with narrowing of both kidney arteries, or a history of swelling of the face and throat caused by this group of medicines.

Interactions with other medicines

Potassium supplements/salt substitutes, potassium-sparing diuretics (spironolactone, eplerenone, amiloride), NSAIDs, lithium, other antihypertensives/diuretics, ARBs/aliskiren (increased renal risk), trimethoprim

You have been prescribed Envas 10 Tablet to improve blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the chance of future heart attack & strokes. It may also be used to treat chronic (long-standing) heart failure. It protects kidney function, which is especially useful for people with diabetes or mild-to-moderate kidney diseases. Envas 10 Tablet can make you feel dizzy for the first few days. Take it preferably at bedtime and rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. Let your doctor know about any dizziness, cough, or throat irritation that does not go away. It may increase the level of potassium in blood. Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli. Do not take it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Envas 10 Tablet .
