Mprol 50 Tablet contains Metoprolol (50mg).
Mprol 50 mg Tablet is a long-acting beta blocker that works specifically on the heart. It works by slowing down the heart rate and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Mprol 50 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Avoid Mprol 50 mg Tablet with high-fat meals such as olive oil, nuts & seeds (Brazil nuts), dark chocolate, butter and meat.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Mprol as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Mprol than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
