Isosorbide dinitrate 10 mg
Prevention and treatment of angina pectoris (chest pain) due to coronary artery disease; may be used as adjunct therapy in certain heart failure regimens as prescribed.
Isosorbide dinitrate is an organic nitrate that releases nitric oxide in vascular smooth muscle. It causes venous and arterial vasodilation, reducing preload and afterload and lowering myocardial oxygen demand, thereby relieving/preventing angina.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually 2–3 times daily with an adequate nitrate-free interval to reduce tolerance. Can be taken with or without food; swallow with water. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

May cause marked fall in blood pressure and fainting—rise slowly from sitting/lying. Avoid use with PDE-5 inhibitors (sildenafil/tadalafil/vardenafil) or riociguat due to life-threatening hypotension. Use with caution in severe anemia, low blood volume, hypotension, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, recent heart attack, or increased intracranial pressure. Not intended for rapid relief of an acute angina attack unless specifically advised and a fast-acting nitrate is available. Headache is common at start of therapy.
