Maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including chronic bronchitis and emphysema; may be used for maintenance treatment of asthma when prescribed by a doctor (brand-specific indication depends on formulation).
This inhaler contains a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes airway smooth muscles, helping keep the airways open. It reduces bronchospasm and improves airflow, easing long-term breathlessness and wheeze. It is not meant for immediate relief of sudden breathing attacks.
Use by inhalation only as prescribed. Prime the inhaler if new or not used for several days (as per pack insert). Exhale fully, seal lips around mouthpiece, inhale slowly and deeply while actuating, hold breath for ~10 seconds, then exhale; rinse mouth if advised. Do not exceed the recommended number of puffs; carry a rescue inhaler for acute symptoms if prescribed.
Common side effects of TIOFORM INHALER may include:
Not for acute bronchospasm/sudden attacks. Keep device away from eyes; ensure correct inhaler technique.
