Losartan potassium 50 mg
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); helps reduce risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy; may be used in diabetic kidney disease (type 2 diabetes with proteinuria) as advised by doctor.
Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks angiotensin II (AT1) receptors, causing blood vessels to relax and reducing aldosterone effects. This lowers blood pressure and decreases strain on the heart and kidneys.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice; if a dose is missed, take it when remembered unless it is close to the next dose.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Tsart Mcl 50 Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Avoid use in pregnancy (can harm the fetus). Use caution in kidney disease, liver disease, dehydration/low salt intake, or heart failure; monitor blood pressure, kidney function and serum potassium. Risk of hyperkalemia—avoid potassium supplements/salt substitutes unless advised. May cause dizziness—caution while driving. Rarely, angioedema can occur; seek urgent care if swelling of face/lips/throat or breathing difficulty occurs.
