Telmisartan 40 mg
Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension); helps reduce risk of cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke) in high-risk patients as advised by a doctor
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks the action of angiotensin II on blood vessels, causing them to relax and widen, which lowers blood pressure and reduces strain on the heart.
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily at the same time. Can be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not stop abruptly without medical advice.
Common side effects of Zimtel 40 Tab may include:
Use with caution in kidney or liver disease, dehydration/low salt intake, and in elderly. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and serum potassium. Not recommended in pregnancy (especially 2nd/3rd trimester) due to risk of fetal harm. Seek medical help for severe dizziness, fainting, swelling of face/lips, or reduced urine output.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Zimtel 40 Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
