Amlodipine 5 mg + Metoprolol succinate (extended-release) 25 mg
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); management of chronic stable angina (chest pain) and reduction of blood pressure in patients requiring combination therapy
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure. Metoprolol succinate is a cardioselective beta-blocker that slows heart rate and reduces the force of contraction, lowering blood pressure and decreasing cardiac workload.
Take by mouth as directed by the doctor, usually once daily at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew (extended-release component). Can be taken with or without food; avoid stopping suddenly without medical advice.
Common side effects of AMLOSAFE MT 25 may include:
Do not stop metoprolol abruptly (risk of worsening angina/heart issues). Use with caution in asthma/COPD, diabetes (may mask hypoglycemia), heart block, severe bradycardia, heart failure, and liver disease. Monitor blood pressure and pulse regularly; may cause dizziness—use caution while driving. Seek urgent care for fainting, very slow pulse, severe breathlessness, or swelling suggestive of heart failure.
