How Betaloc 50 Tablet works

How to take Betaloc 50 Tablet

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily for extended-release tablets. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Can be taken with or without food, but take at the same time each day. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of betalOC 50mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

An overdose of this medicine can cause a dangerously slow heartbeat, a severe fall in blood pressure, wheezing and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Monitor blood pressure and pulse regularly. May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected.

Do not take Betaloc if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with a very slow heart rate, certain heart block disorders, or uncontrolled heart failure. Generally avoided in severe asthma.

Verapamil, diltiazem (risk of bradycardia/heart block), digoxin, amiodarone/other antiarrhythmics, clonidine (withdrawal interaction), other antihypertensives (additive BP lowering), insulin/oral antidiabetics (masked hypoglycemia), NSAIDs (may reduce antihypertensive effect), CYP2D6 inhibitors like fluoxetine/paroxetine/quinidine (may increase metoprolol levels)
