How Candid TV Suspension works

Candid TV Suspension is a combination of two medicines: Clotrimazole and Selenium. Clotrimazole works by stopping the growth of fungi that cause infection, and reducing their numbers. This treats your infection. Selenium is a mineral that reduces damage caused to the skin due to infection, decreases flaking or scaling of the skin and helps in formation of new skin.

How to take Candid TV Suspension

Shake well before use. Measure the dose with a cup/spoon and take exactly as prescribed. Can be taken with or without food; taking after food may reduce stomach upset.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Candid TV Suspension, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely from skin use; swallowing the preparation may cause stomach upset. It can cause vomiting, stomach pain and, with some minerals, damage over the longer term. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Candid TV are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• stomach discomfort
• diarrhoea
• taste disturbance
• headache
• rash

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Use only on medical advice. Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney disease, heart disease, diabetes, electrolyte imbalance, or are taking multiple medicines. Stop and seek medical help if allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty) occur. If symptoms persist/worsen, consult a doctor.

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. For external use only. Not for use in the eyes.

Interactions with other medicines

No significant interactions are expected from preparations used on the skin. Zinc and other minerals reduce the absorption of some antibiotics — separate them by a few hours. Tell your doctor if you take a blood thinner, as high-dose vitamin E can add to its effect.

Store below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly closed. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Candid TV Suspension

Candid TV Suspension must be applied as a thin layer on the affected area as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use this medicine more often or for longer than advised by your doctor. Before each application, wash the affected area with soap and water and dry well. Avoid getting it in the eyes, mouth or nose. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas. Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects. Inform your doctor if the treated skin area does not improve after 2-4 weeks of treatment.
