Cardivas 25 Tablet is an alpha and beta blocker. It works by slowing down the heart rate and relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cardivas 25 Tablet should be taken with or after food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Cardivas 25 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Cardivas than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Cardivas are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
| Pregnancy | Cardivas 25 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.<br>Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor. |

| Kidney | Cardivas 25 Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Cardivas 25 Tablet is recommended.<br>However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for dose adjustment. |
| Liver | Cardivas 25 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Cardivas 25 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br>Use of Cardivas 25 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. |

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Cardivas. Some combinations can change how Cardivas works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Cardivas below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
Take Cardivas 25 Tablet with food for the best result. Check your blood pressure 1 week after starting Cardivas 25 Tablet, and inform your doctor if it has not improved. Cardivas 25 Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. It is best to avoid drinking alcohol while taking Cardivas 25 Tablet as it may make the side effects worse. Do not stop taking Cardivas 25 Tablet suddenly as it can cause your blood pressure to rise suddenly, thereby increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
