How Metstop T 25 works

How to take Metstop T 25

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Metstop 25mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

An overdose of this medicine can cause a dangerously slow heartbeat, a severe fall in blood pressure, wheezing and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Seek urgent care for wheeze, severe dizziness/fainting, very slow pulse, or worsening shortness of breath/swelling.

Do not take Metstop T if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with a very slow heart rate, certain heart block disorders, or uncontrolled heart failure. Generally avoided in severe asthma.

Interactions with other medicines

Other antihypertensives (additive hypotension), calcium channel blockers like verapamil/diltiazem (bradycardia/heart block), antiarrhythmics (e.g., amiodarone), digoxin, clonidine (rebound risk on withdrawal), NSAIDs (may reduce antihypertensive effect), insulin/oral antidiabetics (mask hypoglycaemia), CYP2D6 inhibitors such as fluoxetine/paroxetine/quinidine (increase metoprolol levels).
