How Mprol Am Tablet works

M Prol-AM Tablet ER is a combination of two medicines: Amlodipine and Metoprolol, which lowers blood pressure effectively. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker which works by relaxing blood vessels while metoprolol is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart to slow down the heart rate. Together, they make the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.

How to take Mprol Am Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. M Prol-AM Tablet ER is to be taken with food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Mprol Am as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

PregnancyM Prol-AM Tablet ER may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.<br>Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
BreastfeedingM Prol-AM Tablet ER is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
AlcoholTaking Metoprolol with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
KidneyM Prol-AM Tablet ER is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of M Prol-AM Tablet ER is recommended.
LiverM Prol-AM Tablet ER should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of M Prol-AM Tablet ER may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
