How Ms D3 Capsule works

MS Dos Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Doxylamine and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), which treats nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy. Doxylamine is an antihistamine which works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine), thereby controlling nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is a form of vitamin B which possesses anti-nausea properties.

How to take Ms D3 Capsule

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. MS Dos Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause drowsiness, disorientation and abnormal muscle movements. It is unlikely to cause serious harm, because the body passes surplus B vitamins out in the urine. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Ms D3 are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Use it for the shortest period that works. These medicines are not intended for long-term daily use. Report any unusual muscle stiffness, tremor, restlessness or uncontrolled movements of the face or limbs at once — stop and contact your doctor. Tell your doctor if you have a heart rhythm problem; some of this group affect the heart's electrical timing. Persistent vomiting needs a diagnosis. Do not keep suppressing it without seeing a doctor, especially with abdominal pain, fever or blood. Tingling, numbness or burning in the hands and feet should be assessed by a doctor rather than self-treated — a supplement does not address the cause. Folic acid can mask a vitamin B12 deficiency while nerve damage continues, so B12 should be checked before taking folic acid long term. Bright yellow urine after a B-complex dose is expected and harmless.

Do not take Ms D3 if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with bleeding, blockage or perforation of the gut, or with certain heart rhythm disorders.

Interactions with other medicines

Antifungals, some antibiotics and heart-rhythm medicines increase the risk of rhythm problems when combined. Adds to the drowsiness of alcohol and sedatives. Long-term metformin, acid-reducing medicines and some anti-epileptics lower B12 or folate levels. Tell your doctor if you take levodopa, as vitamin B6 can reduce its effect.

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
