In diabetics, avoid combination with aliskiren; use caution with dual RAAS blockade (ACE inhibitor/ARB/aliskiren) due to risk of kidney injury, hypotension and hyperkalemia.
Do not take Telmistad if
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be used in pregnancy — it can seriously harm the developing baby. Not for people with narrowing of both kidney arteries, or a history of swelling of the face and throat caused by this group of medicines.
Interactions with other medicines
ACE inhibitors (e.g., enalapril), aliskiren, potassium supplements/salt substitutes, potassium-sparing diuretics (spironolactone, eplerenone, amiloride), NSAIDs (ibuprofen, diclofenac), lithium, diuretics (may increase first-dose hypotension), digoxin (may increase levels)
