Telmisartan (20mg)
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); reduction of cardiovascular risk in high-risk patients as advised by a doctor
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks the action of angiotensin II on AT1 receptors, leading to relaxation and widening of blood vessels. This lowers blood pressure and reduces strain on the heart.
Take by mouth as prescribed, usually once daily, at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Telmistad 20MG Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Not recommended in pregnancy (can cause fetal harm) and should be stopped immediately if pregnancy occurs. Use with caution in kidney disease, liver impairment, dehydration, low blood pressure, or history of angioedema. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and serum potassium; risk of hyperkalemia increases with kidney disease or potassium-raising drugs. Avoid use in severe liver impairment/biliary obstruction. In diabetics, avoid combination with aliskiren; use caution with dual RAAS blockade (ACE inhibitor/ARB/aliskiren) due to risk of kidney injury, hypotension and hyperkalemia.
