Ursodeoxycholic Acid (Ursodiol) 300 mg tablet
Dissolution of cholesterol gallstones (in selected patients), treatment of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC)/primary biliary cirrhosis, cholestatic liver diseases where UDCA is indicated (as prescribed)
Ursodeoxycholic acid is a hydrophilic bile acid that reduces cholesterol saturation in bile by decreasing hepatic cholesterol secretion and absorption. It improves bile flow and protects liver cells from toxic bile acids, helping in cholestatic liver conditions and gradual dissolution of cholesterol gallstones.
Take by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually with food; swallow whole with water. Dose and duration depend on indication (e.g., gallstones or PBC); take at the same time daily and do not stop without medical advice.
