How Betacap Plus 5 works

Betacap Plus 5 Capsule SR is a combination of two medicines: propranolol and flunarizine. Propranolol is a beta blocker, and flunarizine is a calcium channel blocker. They work together by stabilizing the reactive nerve cells and increasing the threshold for migraine activation. Flunarizine also helps in inhibiting cortical spreading depression (CSD—electric waves that move across the brain and cause pain and inflammation).

How to take Betacap Plus 5

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Betacap Plus 5 Capsule SR may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Betacap Plus 5 Capsule SR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Betacap Plus than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
